REVIEW: The muppets
Plot:
Walter, a puppet, lives with his brother Gary (Jason Segel), a human, in Smalltown. The two became Muppet fans when they watched The Muppet Show in their youths. As adults, Walter and Gary continue to live together in their home town of Smalltown. Gary plans a vacation to Los Angeles with his girlfriend Mary (Amy Adams) to celebrate their tenth anniversary, and he invites Walter along so he can see the Muppet Theater. Gary is pleased to spend time with both Mary and Walter ("Life's a Happy Song"), though Mary feels that Gary's devotion to Walter detracts from their relationship.
In Los Angeles, the three visit the Muppet Theater to find it in ruins. During the tour around the facility, Walter sneaks into Kermit the Frog's office and discovers Statler and Waldorf selling the theatre to Tex Richman (Chris Cooper), an oil magnate, and his associates Bobo the Bear and Uncle Deadly. Waldorf explains that the Muppets can raise 10 million dollars to re-buy the theater in a certain amount of days. Once Statler and Waldorf leave, Walter learns of Tex's true intentions: to tear down the Muppet Studios and drill underneath for oil.
etc...
The movie it self:
The muppets are back and they are still as good as I remember them from my memory. We meet again with Kermit, Miss Piggy, Gonzo, The chef, etc...
This time around there is a new muppet in town, called Walter. Aldo Walter had his moments to shine and he was even funny. But for some reason I don't find him as lovable as the others.
Also ass in every show or movie there are humans. This time you got Gary and Mary played by Jason Segel and Amy Adams. Now for there performance, there both very good for in a muppet movie but nothing to special. Segal's character (Gary) is one who fits into the muppet universe but the character from Adams wasn't really what it should have been to fit in the universe.
As last, there is no muppet movie without music. This time you get the muppet intro as it should be. There are also a lot of new songs, all of theme are very good. The least favorite song of my personally was the 2 solo songs of Mary.
Now you are probably thinking I have something against the character Mary. But no, not really. I just don't like the songs.
The Blu- Ray it self:
The picture quality, is very good. There are very vivid colors and good details.
The sound is also very good. Dialogue and music is very clear and enjoyable.
Conclusion:
The movie is very enjoyable for every age 6 and up. This is a must see. If you don't own it already (shame for you) and not planning yet to get it. At least rent it.
As for the Blu- Ray, you get everything you want from it, excellent picture and audio quality plus a lot of extra's. Such as bloopers, all the (spoof) trailers in Full HD and so much more.
final score: 10/10
As a small extra, I'll include the funny trailers from the movie:
Watch them in this order:

REVIEW: Sherlock Holmes: A game of shadows
Sherlock Holmes (Robert Downey, Jr.) and his longtime trusted associate, Doctor Watson (Jude Law), take on their arch-nemesis, Professor Moriarty (Jared Harris), with the help of Holmes's older brother Mycroft Holmes (Stephen Fry) and a gypsy named Sim (Noomi Rapace).
THE FILM IT SELF:
What to think about
this movie. Its an action/mystery movie with a tip of humor in it. That is for
sure. If you liked the first Sherlock Holmes movie in this franchise then you’ll
certainly like this movie for sure.
Robert Downey, Jr. is
back as Sherlock Holmes and Jude Law as Watson. And the chemistry is still
there. They play perfectly together on the screen. Also they really breath
there character.
Now in this flick we meet
Jared Harris as Professor Moriarty for the first time. I can only say wow. Mr.
Harris just dictates everything when he is on the screen. Your expected to hate
his character and yet, I could not entirely. He has a sort of charismatic I
really appreciate.
You also see Stephen
Fry as the brother of Holmes, Mycroft Holmes. Stephen does a more then descent
act.
Noomi Repace on the
other hand is not bad, but a little underwhelming. Not bat, just not as good as
it could.
THE BLU- RAY:
Warner bros home entertainment
gives us a 1080p transfer that is more than descent for today’s Blu-Ray
standards on picture quality.
On the other hand we
get a gorgeous audio track. It has a rich base with a colourful swing. Dialogue
is also very clear. With other words sound track gives us everything we can
desire.
CONCLUSION:
If you liked the
previous Sherlock film or in the mood for a relaxing mystery then this is the
one for you. The Blu- Ray is more then average for today’s standards. But
nothing special.
FINAL SCORE: 8/10
TRAILER: Hit and Run (2012)
Trailer: Hit and Run (2012 - 22 August 2012
When I saw this trailer I tought this looks freaking gooood! No serious, this look like a movie you really want to see, but can easy slip under your radar. Don't let it slip under your radar.
TRAILER: The Great Gatsby (2012)
The Great Gatsby (2012) trailer no. 1
In the trailer you can already see a mistake from the director. You can see an add from Ziegfeld Follies but he wrote 'Zeigfeld'. But hey everyone makes sometime a mistake.
TRAILER: 007 Skyfall
The first trailer for the newest James Bond movie.
Let me know what you think in the comment section. What do I think? hmm.... Sweet! Awesome! Kickass! thrilling, James bond mmmm.....
NEWS: JI Joe movie pushed back to 2013
Today paramount said they have pushed back the release for the second J.I JO movie. The reason for this is that they can post- convert the movie to 3D. This is so they can put '3D' on the poster and make some extra $$. To bad, I think. Everyone knows that post- 3D is never as good as native 3D. And that they didn't think about it before they start making the movie can mean that the movie won't be any better with the extra 3D. But only time can tell if the 3D will be any good.

REVIEW: The girl with the dragon tattoo

PLOT:
This English-language adaptation of the Swedish novel by Stieg Larsson follows a disgraced journalist, Mikael Blomkvist (Daniel Craig), as he investigates the disappearance of a wealthy patriarch's niece from 40 years ago. He is aided by the pierced, tattooed, punk computer hacker named Lisbeth Salander (Rooney Mara). As they work together in the investigation, Blomkvist and Salander uncover immense corruption beyond anything they have ever imagined.
THE FILM IT SELF:
This is one of those movies you will enjoy if you like a good thriller, drama, mystery or even an action flick.
Now, the performance from the maim actor Daniel Craig, is very good. As you may expect from him.
Rooney Mara on the other hand, the female maim character. Is just stunning. She just dominate the screen.
The director, David Fincher. He has done it again. In one word 'perfect'. Every frame is perfect. The lighting is also perfect.
THE BLU- RAY:
picture quality is a beautiful 1080p transfer. This is without a doubt one of the best on picture quality. The black levels on this release is to get a nerdgasm. They are so good.
Sound. Is also perfect. It has a perfect DTS HD MA 5.1.
Features. This Blu- ray release is accompanied with a second disc full of interesting extra's. You can really spend an entire evening watching the extra's.
CONCLUSION:
A must own for everyone. It's a very exiting story, good performance. And the Blu- ray looks and sounds amazing.
FINAL SCORE: 10/10
